Radical Chapter 4

1)  Page 70-71 "The message of biblical Christianity is not "God loves me, period," as if we were the object of our own faith.  The message of biblical Christianity is "God loves me so that I might make him--his ways, his salvation, his glory, and his greatness--known among all nations."  Now God is the object of our faith, and Christianity centers around him.  We are not the end of the gospel; God is."

Oh how that changes things.  Yes God did all of this for me,  but really, he did it for Humanity so that His glory would be shown to all people.  I'm just a speck of that.  How can we balance the understanding that he loves ME and has a plan for ME and knows all about ME, but at the same time understand that that same applies to EVERYONE for His purpose to Make Himself Known?

2)  This may take some time to marinate in your soul... but after reading this, has your opinion changed about what it means to "be called"  and even more so, have your changed your opinion about your own calling?

Radical Chapter 3

1)  pg 50:  "We Christians are living out the American dream in the context of our communities of faith.  We have convinced ourselves that if we can position our resources and organize our strategies, then in church as in every other sphere of life, we can accomplish anything we set our minds to"

What do you think are the dangers of this way of thinking?  And do we have areas in our ministry that we are at risk of this and if so, what can we do to correct course?

2) pg 60:  "Think about it. Would you say that your life is marked right now by desperation for the Spirit of God?  Would you say that the church you are a part of is characterized by this sense of desperation?"

Where could we use some "desperation" on our teams?

Radical Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

This chapter has forever changed how I view the crucifixion,  especially pages 34-36.  Any "light bulb" moments for you?

Ladies:  my prayer for you is that He would make you hungry:
1) Hungry for more of His word
2) Hungry for more time with His kids
3) Hungry for more chances to lead
4) Hungry for more chances to grow
5)  Any "hunger" you would like me to add to my prayer?

1)  Any line in chapter 1 that stuck with you?  hard to shake?  or simply inspired you?  Share the line and the page reference

2) Pg 12-13 "What About Us?"  Not necessarily the easiest read...  Where are we in danger (personally or as a church) of Americanizing Jesus?
